To honor the first commercial release of only five 2012 Grange Imperial 6-litre bottles available on the planet, forceMAJEURE was asked to create the Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Ritual, a distinctive hand-made crystal objet d’art service vessel.

The result was a bespoke serving ritual for one of Australia’s most celebrated wines, a product of a 1-year collaboration between forceMAJEURE, Penfolds & Saint Louis. The crystal and stainless steel structure precisely balances and elevates the Imperial to facilitate the perfect pour. As part of the collaboration, a limited edition release of sculptured decanters, the Aevum Limited Edition Crystal Decanter, accompany the 750ml 2012 Grange. The forceMAJEURE team collaborated with Penfolds and Saint-Louis to design both structures to capture the elegance, graciousness, and fluidity of the decanting process.

The exceptional results and positive impact led Penfolds to mandate us to create a second edition of the decanter to accompany the 2013 Grange 750ml release.

For the second iteration of the Penfolds and Saint-Louis collaboration, we designed a sculptured crystal decanter to enhance the decanting process and the enjoyment of a Penfolds wine. The decanter releases the aromas and flavors of the wine through aeration and delivers an unforgettable experience and sense of occasion. The slow-moving, controlled and secure turning motion gently aerates the wine while the handcrafted piece, featuring a flowing band of incised crystal around the decanter, allows an uninterrupted view of the depth of color and consistency of the liquid inside. The project was released on October 2017 and available only while quantities last.
